Hot Tub
We offer the hot tub as an optional
rental amenity for a separate fee of $30 per
rental.
(For Airbnb, HomeAway, or
TripAdvisor rentals, this fee is incorporated in the
housekeeping fee and will be rebated after completion of the
rental if the guests state at the time
of booking that they will not use the hot
tub).
In the unlikely event
that the hot tub is not operational, we will refund the $30
paid use fee.
================================
USE OF THE HOT TUB IS AT YOUR OWN
RISK. Our hot tub is
serviced by a professional contractor prior to each rental. It
is and sanitized with a combination of ozone and bromine.
While sanitation with ozone and bromine, each by itself, is
highly effective, and the two are synergistic in their
sanitation effect, there is always a finite possibility of an
unforeseen malfunction out of our control. People who are
sensitive to such chemicals or water-born skin irritations
should refrain from using the hot tub.
================================
The hot tub is built into the deck off the master
bedroom. The controls are on the wall below the kitchen window.
-- NO children
in hot tub without constant supervision!
-- Never step on hot the tub cover
-- it is not designed to walk on and will break (replacement
cost over $600).
-- NO
washing of wet suits in the hot tub!
-- NO sand from the beach in the tub!
***
-- NO abalone handling in the tub
-- Cover: It is perfectly adequate (and much
easier and safer) to fold the cover only
half-way, rather than removing it entirely.

To conserve
energy, we keep the water temperature at about 80
degrees when not in use, and ask
you to
set it to your target
temperature (100 degrees) when you arrive and back to
75 degrees before you depart.
Plan for about 3-4 hours heating time to
reach that temperature (rate of heating is about 6
degrees per hour).
Keep the cover on at all times to avoid
unnecessary heat loss.
=====================================================================================
-- The first (left) button on the controller will turn on the pump (first low speed, second high speed, third off);*
-- the second button is designed for the air bubbler (which is disabled: THE HOT TUB HAS NO AIR BUBBLER);
-- the third button is deactivated at Bella Vista;
-- the forth (right) button is for the temperature adjustment.**
______________________________
*** Even small
amounts of sand will damage the pump system and cause
expensive repairs.
**** Should
this bother you at night, you can simply
set the thermostat (right button) to a
significantly lower temperature setting, say, to
80 degrees,* which will give you several hours of
quiet time until the water temperature at the
sensor location has dropped to that level and the
pump will do its thing once again). Next morning, don't forget to set
the temperature back up to your target temperature).
